Alessandro Zaccuri has won the 39th edition of the Premio "Procida – Isola di Arturo – Elsa Morante" with his novel "Le ombre," published by Marsilio.
The final result was announced at the award ceremony held on Saturday 19 September 2026 at Cine Teatro Procida Hall. The prize was presented by Procida mayor Luigi Muro.
How the winner was chosen
The final ranking was decided by the Giuria dei Lettori, the readers' jury, after the finalists had been selected by a technical jury. That two-step format — technical selection followed by a readers' vote — was also confirmed in the 2026 program listing for the prize's Narrative section.
The readers' jury placed Vanessa Ambrosecchio second with "Le Leonesse di Vergine Maria" and Nicola Fano third with "Michelangelo e i pensatori. Apologia del dubbio nelle arti."
