Naples is among the finalists for the Premio Future4Cities 2026 with Girls4Climate, a local project promoted by Cleanap.
The project is one of 25 finalists for the prize, which is promoted by Will Media and FROM and recognizes innovative projects from urban Italy. The finalists were selected from more than 250 applications, with five finalists in each of the five categories.
Girls4Climate combines climate justice and gender justice through citizen science. It involves women and young women under 35 in collecting and analyzing data on urban heat islands and climate shelters in Naples.
The reported activities include a digital platform, collaboration with ENEA, training for participants, and the Girls4Climate Café.
The category winners will be announced on 25 September at OGR Torino, during the Future4Cities festival scheduled for 25–27 September. Online voting for the prize collected about 40,000 votes and closed on 4 September.
