A waste collection truck was stolen in broad daylight on Via Roma in Melito on September 22, at around 8:30 a.m., near Bar Magen.
The vehicle belonged to Velia Ambiente and was in use for waste collection at the time. According to reports, workers had stepped out of the cab to load a sofa when thieves allegedly got inside and drove away.
The truck's GPS tracking system was reportedly removed shortly after the theft. At the time of publication, there was still no trace of the vehicle.
The investigation is being handled by the Carabinieri of the Tenenza di Melito. No details have been released about the identity of those responsible, and there has been no confirmed recovery of the truck.
