A 42-year-old man was arrested in San Cipriano d'Aversa on suspicion of aggravated theft after work equipment valued at approximately €1,080 was reported stolen from a restaurant on corso Umberto I.
According to the reports, the theft allegedly occurred while the restaurant was temporarily closed. The Carabinieri responded after a 112 call and examined the restaurant's surveillance footage.
Investigators used the footage to identify the suspected perpetrator. The suspect was then found nearby on corso Umberto I wearing clothing considered compatible with that shown in the images.
The man was detained pending a direct trial. The reports describe an accusation and arrest, not a definitive finding of guilt, and the case remained at the preliminary-investigation stage. The suspect is therefore covered by the presumption of innocence pending a final conviction.
The suspect's name, the restaurant's name, the specific equipment allegedly stolen, and the outcome of the proceedings were not reported in the available accounts.
