A necklace with a crucifix was snatched from a woman sitting in front of the ticket office of the Royal Palace of Caserta on Corso Giannone, in the center of Caserta.

According to Il Mattino Caserta, a young man pulled the chain from the woman and then fled on foot. The alarm prompted the intervention of police patrol units.

The chase lasted only a few minutes. Officers stopped the man near Via Mantegna.

Emergency medical staff assisted the victim at the scene, and she was taken to hospital for checks. The report does not detail her condition or the outcome of those checks.

The available report does not give the name or age of the man stopped, nor his formal legal status. It also does not say whether the necklace and crucifix were recovered, and it contains no statement from the police headquarters or prosecutors.

What is confirmed is the sequence in the city center: the snatching outside the Reggia ticket office, the flight, and the rapid stop nearby by police.
