Two months after the 31 August fire at the Eco Energy site, Airola's prefectural commissioner met with the Comitato Salute e Ambiente for what was reported as their first institutional meeting on the emergency.

According to the committee's account carried by NTR24, the discussion focused on three requests: concrete compensation measures for farmers and livestock breeders if the reported damage is confirmed, timely publication of ASL reports on environmental checks and analyses of local agricultural and dairy products, and remediation of the burned site.

On transparency, the committee proposed a dedicated section on the municipality's website to centralize updates on checks, analyses and decisions related to the fire.

On remediation, the option discussed was a possible private acquisition of the Eco Energy site by a party that would undertake the cleanup or, if that purchase does not happen, intervention by the Campania Region.

What remains unclear: there are no confirmed damage assessments for farms, livestock or local food products, no definitive timeline for remediation has been reported, and it is not confirmed whether the proposed municipal information section will be created. The account of the meeting comes from the committee, and no independent institutional documentation of the talks was acquired.

The committee said it plans to continue pressing institutions for concrete solutions.
