Benevento–Cancello railway eyes reopening in early 2027
Work on the Benevento–Cancello railway is expected to finish by December, with reopening targeted for the first months of 2027.
The Campania Region intends to work with ANSFISA, the national railway safety agency, to accelerate authorization procedures once construction ends. Repeated cable thefts along the line have required restoration work and increased surveillance.
No definitive reopening date has been established. Reopening remains dependent on completion of the works, safety authorizations and resolution of the cable-theft security issues.
Fragneto Monforte Balloon Festival set for 7–11 October
The 38th Balloon Festival in Fragneto Monforte is scheduled for 7–11 October, with about 30 balloons and flights at dawn and sunset.
The programme includes a live "flying mural," performances, music, food stands, a drone show and a concert by Almaterra.
