Forza Italia is preparing an alternative proposal for Benevento's next local elections, with Francesco Rubano presenting the party's early strategy as a centre-right project still in a preliminary phase.
Rubano said the party has several possible candidates to submit to regional secretary Fulvio Martusciello. The final choice, and how the broader electoral project will be structured, will be decided by the centre-right political table.
The programme has not yet been finalised. According to Rubano, it will be developed through consultations with Forza Italia voters and local party organisations.
The project is intended to be open to contributions from civil society, including professional organisations, industry and healthcare, as part of building a programme for the city.
Rubano stated that Forza Italia is in opposition to the current administration but currently has no representation on Benevento's municipal council.
The discussion comes against the backdrop of an announced "Grosse Koalition" involving Pasquale Viespoli and Umberto Del Basso De Caro.
No candidate for mayor has been identified, and the timing and formal procedure for selecting a candidate and approving the programme remain unspecified.
