A fault on a water supply pipeline in the Ceppaloni area has disrupted drinking water delivery to four municipalities in the Benevento area.
The affected municipalities are Sant’Angelo a Cupolo, Ceppaloni, San Leucio del Sannio and Apollosa, according to local outlet NTR24. The fault suspended delivery to the reservoirs serving those towns while repair teams worked on the line.
Expected timeline
Supply to the reservoirs was expected to be restored by 16:00 on Monday, 19 October.
A further overnight interruption was possible from 23:00 on 19 October until 06:00 on 20 October, to support normal supply the following day. That overnight stop was reported as conditional, not confirmed.
What residents were told to expect
Temporary turbidity in tap water was possible when service resumed. The report said this would not affect potability and advised letting water run for several minutes after reopening.
No detailed breakdown was available of which neighborhoods or streets within the four municipalities were most affected, and no independent official utility notice was cited to corroborate the report. Residents should check with their local municipality or water provider for updated restoration information.
