Benevento is strengthening evening surveillance and prevention in the busiest areas of the city centre, with a fixed police presence planned on Corso Garibaldi on Friday and Saturday evenings starting this weekend.

The measure follows a technical coordination meeting held at the Government Palace and chaired by Prefect Raffaela Moscarella, according to NTR24.

The stated aim is to ensure a constant presence and support safer use of public spaces, particularly for the young people who gather in the centre in the evening.

What has been confirmed so far is limited to that core arrangement: intensified evening checks in the most frequented areas and the weekend post on Corso Garibaldi. The exact hours of the fixed presence, the forces involved, and staffing levels have not been specified, and no traffic restrictions, road closures, or changes to pedestrian access have been reported.
