The State Police traffic section in Benevento carried out targeted road-safety checks from 16 to 18 October 2026.
During the weekend operation, officers checked 45 vehicles and 50 people and recorded 11 violations of the Italian Highway Code.
Four driving licences were withdrawn: two for using a phone or radiotelephone while driving and two for overtaking where prohibited. The violations resulted in a total of 30 points being deducted from drivers' licences.
Officers also assisted two vehicles in difficulty during the checks.
