Friday, 9 October was a difficult afternoon for travel around Castellammare di Stabia, with three separate incidents hitting buses, trains and the main coastal road within hours of each other.

According to a report by Metropolis Web, an EAV bus caught fire at approximately 14:30 in the Pioppaino area of Castellammare di Stabia. The driver stopped the vehicle and ordered an immediate evacuation.

All occupants escaped, and the report records no injuries. Firefighters, State Police and municipal police intervened at the scene. The cause of the fire had not yet been established, with a mechanical or electrical fault mentioned only as a preliminary hypothesis pending technical inspections.

Rail passengers faced disruption at the same time. Circumvesuviana services reportedly suffered heavy delays and overcrowded trains, including services toward Sorrento and internal Vesuvian routes. The exact duration of the delays was not independently verified.

Road traffic was also affected after a landslide near Pozzano sent rocks onto the SS145 Sorrentina. The obstruction produced severe traffic congestion across Castellammare and nearby connections. The extent and duration of the closure, and the stability of the slope above Pozzano, remained unresolved at the time of the report.
