A terrace collapsed on 11 October 2026 in via Canneto, in the Petraro district of Santa Maria la Carità, injuring four people.
Fanpage gives the address as via del Canneto 76. Reports describe the structure both as a terrace and as a balcony, and the precise architectural element has not been confirmed through official findings.
What happened
According to Metropolis Web, the collapse happened suddenly during Sunday lunch. Fanpage reports instead that the people had arrived to inspect renovation work, and that the affected building was under renovation and reportedly uninhabited. The available reports do not resolve that discrepancy about why the four people were on the structure when it gave way.
The four people fell with the structure and were injured. Two of the injured people were reported to be in more serious condition. Il Mattino reports that two were transported in red-code condition.
Emergency response
Emergency services responded at the scene, including ambulances, law-enforcement personnel and firefighters.
The injured people were taken to hospitals in Castellammare di Stabia and Naples. Two were transported to San Leonardo in Castellammare di Stabia, one to Ospedale del Mare in Naples and one to Cardarelli in Naples.
Firefighters cordoned off the collapse area and secured it.
What remains unclear
The cause and precise dynamics of the collapse remained under investigation. The identities and longer-term medical conditions of the injured people were not independently confirmed in the available reports.
No official finding on the structural cause had been established at the time of the reports.
