A routine check in Castellammare di Stabia turned violent when a 37-year-old man allegedly attacked Carabinieri officers while his 35-year-old partner tried to dispose of crack cocaine by throwing it into the toilet.
According to local press reports based on a Carabinieri account, officers went to the man's apartment, where he was already under house arrest for a prior drug-related matter and wearing an electronic bracelet. When the check began, the man allegedly resisted and used violence against the officers, creating a diversion that allowed his partner to attempt to flush the drugs.
Officers secured the apartment and then extended the search to the nearby sewer infrastructure. There, with support from the local Radiomobile unit and the Cacciatori Sardegna helicopter squadron, they recovered 48 sealed doses of crack cocaine.
Both people were arrested. The man was transferred to prison, while the woman was placed under house arrest.
The man faces allegations of drug possession for distribution, resistance, and violence against a public official. The reports describe arrests and allegations; final judicial findings have not been reported.
