Carabinieri forestali in Naples have placed a mechanical and motor-vehicle workshop in Santa Maria la Carità under preventive seizure during checks targeting pollution in the Sarno basin, according to a report by Metropolis Web.

The workshop, described as measuring about 110 square metres, was seized over alleged unauthorized discharges of industrial wastewater and irregular management of special hazardous waste.

According to the report, investigators found waste stored without suitable containers, labeling, or adequate traceability, with different types of waste mixed together. Wastewater from workshop operations was reportedly conveyed from the floor into an open drainage channel without an oil-separation system.

The seizure also covered three cars undergoing repair at the time of the inspection, along with the waste found on the premises.

The intervention was described as part of broader efforts against unauthorized discharges and irregular waste management affecting the Sarno basin.

The findings reported remain allegations identified during the inspection; the article does not identify the workshop operator, give an exact address, quantify the wastewater involved, or report a final legal outcome.
