Municipal police have carried out preventive seizures against three commercial businesses in the historic market area between traversa Avezzano and largo Santissimo in Torre del Greco.
The operation concerns four businesses in total. According to prosecutors, public sidewalks in the small square were occupied for approximately ten years with unauthorized display cases and other structures.
The alleged conduct is being investigated as the occupation of publicly owned land or buildings.
The seized display cases and structures were entrusted to the businesses' owners under judicial custody, with their use for displaying merchandise prohibited. The owners were ordered to remove the display cases and other allegedly unauthorized works within thirty days.
One of the four businesses had already removed its display case before the seizure operation, and was therefore not subject to the preventive measure.
The allegations and precautionary measures do not establish final criminal liability. The names of the businesses and individuals involved have not been made public.
