Scandone Avellino returns in front of its home crowd to face Luiss Roma on Sunday, 25 October at 18:00 at the Pala Del Mauro, in the fifth round of the Serie B Nazionale championship.
Avellino arrives looking for a response after a 76-62 defeat to Virtus Roma. That loss interrupted the momentum from the win against Pielle Livorno, and regaining continuity is now the immediate objective.
Luiss Roma arrives with 4 points in the standings, from wins against Loreto Pesaro and San Giobbe Chiusi and defeats against Siena and Latina. In its most recent outing, Luiss beat San Giobbe Chiusi 91-87.
The game also brings a familiar face back to Avellino. Luiss coach Alex Righetti wore the Scandone jersey in the 2007/2008 season and contributed to the club's Coppa Italia triumph.
According to the pre-game preview, Scandone's tactical priorities are containing the ball-handlers, defending the three-point shot, controlling the rebounding battle, and managing possessions more effectively.
