Carabinieri Forestali officers in Lioni, working with territorial Carabinieri, have reported the discovery of an alleged illegal waste-disposal site, according to a report by IrpiniaNews.
The site covered approximately 10,000 square metres and included two adjacent buildings. Officers reportedly found around 1,000 cubic metres of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste stored there.

According to the report, the waste included batteries, mechanical and electronic parts, bodywork components, end-of-life tyres, used-oil containers, and about 80 end-of-life vehicles.
The liquidator of a local company was reported to judicial authorities in connection with the alleged illegal waste management.
Seizure and legal status
The report states that the entire area and the waste found there were seized, with an estimated total value of approximately one million euros.
The person reported remains under investigation and must be considered presumed innocent until a final conviction. The report does not give the exact address of the site, the name of the company or person involved, or the final judicial outcome and remediation status.
