The community of Montoro is mourning the death of Michele Penna, a 43-year-old Brigadiere Capo Q.S. of the Carabinieri.
Penna was from Banzano, a district of Montoro, where news of his death prompted an outpouring of grief.
He is survived by his wife, Donatella Bruno, and their children, Samuele and Emma.
The wake was held at Casa Funeraria Fiore, on Via Dei Due Principati 66/1 in Mercato San Severino.
The funeral was scheduled for 8 November 2026 at 16:00 in the Church of San Valentiniano in Banzano di Montoro, with burial expected to take place in the cemetery of Banzano.
The cause and circumstances of his death were not disclosed in the local reports.
