Il Nero di Bagnoli 2026 has closed its first weekend with what organizers describe as a positive result, drawing visitors, families and food lovers to the stands dedicated to black truffle, chestnuts and local specialties.

According to IrpiniaNews, the festival will resume on Thursday, October 29 at 6:30 p.m. and continue through Saturday, October 31.

Two weekends in 2026

The 2026 calendar is split into two parts: October 23–25 and October 29–31.

The dates for the second weekend were set after coordination among the autumn festivals of the Alta Irpinia municipalities. The aim, according to local reporting, was to spread attendance more evenly and to better manage traffic, parking and safety across concurrent events.

A market fair built around black truffle and chestnut

Il Nero di Bagnoli is presented as the 47th edition of the black truffle market exhibition and chestnut festival of Bagnoli Irpino.

The event takes place in the historic center of Bagnoli Irpino. Its core products are Bagnoli black truffle and chestnuts, alongside other local specialties including porcini mushrooms, cheeses, local meats, cured meats and traditional sweets.

For context on scale, the previous edition featured a food route of almost three kilometers with 118 stands.

Twenty years of Pro Loco leadership

The 2026 edition also marks twenty years of Francesco Pennetti as president of the Pro Loco Bagnoli Irpino–Laceno, the local association behind the event.

The festival also highlights Bagnoli Irpino, the Laceno Plateau and Irpinia more broadly as autumn destinations.

What to know before the second weekend

The second part runs from October 29 to October 31, with the reopening scheduled for the evening of October 29.

No verified attendance figures for the first 2026 weekend were available in the sources consulted. The detailed program of performances, activities and stands for the second weekend is also not fully documented in the primary source. Visitors planning to attend should confirm opening hours and arrangements with the Pro Loco or the Municipality of Bagnoli Irpino before traveling.
