Two boys who lost their way in the mountains around Quadrelle, in the province of Avellino, were found safe during the night by the Campania Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service. One of the two is a minor.
The rescue service was activated by the Carabinieri Company of Baiano. The rescue coordination centre obtained the position of one of the boys by telephone and was able to geolocate the pair.
A rescue team drove to the Petraruola area in a 4x4 vehicle and then located the two boys. They had no reported medical problems. Rescuers accompanied them safely downhill and handed them over to the Carabinieri. Firefighters also arrived at the scene.
The reports do not give the boys' names, ages beyond one being a minor, or place of residence. The exact time and duration of the operation, the precise spot where they were found, and how they lost their bearings were also not reported.
