The City of Avellino has restored reserved parking spaces for people with disabilities on Via Sottotenente Gaetano Corrado, following a request from the Movimento Italiano Disabili (MID).
The intervention was reported by IrpiniaNews, which said MID publicly thanked the municipal administration and Councillor Ettore Iacovacci for responding to the request. The request was signed by MID Campania regional coordinator Giovanni Esposito.
According to the same report, the municipal police command and maintenance technicians from Azienda Città Servizi were credited with helping carry out the work.
A response to a locally reported problem
The restoration follows earlier concerns raised by MID about unauthorized parking in spaces reserved for people with disabilities in Avellino.
Corriere dell'Irpinia previously reported MID's complaints about drivers without authorization occupying reserved spaces, including spaces identified by number plate or permit, and its call for closer checks and stronger enforcement.
In that context, the work on Via Sottotenente Gaetano Corrado addresses a locally reported accessibility and enforcement issue concerning reserved parking.
What remains unclear
The reports do not specify how many spaces were restored or whether other streets were included beyond Via Sottotenente Gaetano Corrado.
They also do not provide the date of the work, technical details of what was done, or an independently published municipal work order or official statement confirming the intervention. It is likewise not established whether monitoring or enforcement in the area changed after the restoration.
