Two cars collided violently on the SS19 in the municipality of Atena Lucana, in the province of Salerno. According to Il Mattino, the crash left a young woman described as a barista seriously injured.
The woman became trapped in the wreckage and had to be extracted by firefighters from the Sala Consilina station. Emergency medical personnel then transported her to the hospital in Polla in serious condition.
The occupants of the second car — a couple and their child — were not seriously injured, although their car overturned in the collision.
