The San Giuseppe Artigiano kindergarten in Pagani was temporarily closed and lessons were suspended for two days after reports of a rodent and gnawed food raised precautionary hygiene concerns.

A later inspection reportedly found additional gnaw marks inside one of the school's rooms, as well as gaps around some doors identified as possible entry points for rodents.

Because all areas of the building were considered potentially accessible to rodents, the extraordinary commission extended the closure to the entire school complex rather than limiting it to a single room.

A rodent-control intervention was ordered, including preventive and control devices and further checks. Reopening was made conditional on documented verification that safe hygienic and sanitary conditions had been restored.

What has not been independently confirmed is the ordinance number or date, whether live rodents were found inside the building or only traces and gnawed food, or when the school formally reopened.
