Twenty-nine intact hunting cartridges were found abandoned in Castelluccio, in the municipality of Castel San Giorgio in the province of Salerno.

The discovery was made during a patrol and territorial monitoring activity carried out by the municipal Civil Protection group. The cartridges, described as still intact and potentially dangerous, were contained in a cloth bag left near a paper container used for transporting ammunition.

The Local Police intervened at the scene, with Commander Giuseppe Contaldi present, and seized the ammunition, placing it in safe custody.

The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Nocera Inferiore was informed of the incident.

The identity of the person who abandoned the cartridges has not been made public. The origin of the ammunition and the reason it was abandoned remain unclear, as does the exact date of the recovery, which sources place in recent days. The calibre, brand, and exact type of the cartridges were not specified.
