Municipal police checks in central Naples led to the seizure of a modified replica pistol hidden in a flowerbed in Piazza Cavour and, in a separate action, the 15-day closure of a bar in the Porto district for repeatedly selling alcohol to minors.
Officers from the Stella unit of the Polizia Locale found the replica pistol concealed in a flowerbed near the metro station exit in Piazza Cavour. According to reports from Il Mattino and Anteprima24, the replica had been modified and lacked the red safety cap.
The weapon was seized and placed at the disposal of the judicial authority for further technical examinations. No verified details have been released about the outcome of those examinations.
In a separate measure, the Questore of Naples ordered the suspension for 15 days of a bar in the Porto district. The suspension followed findings of repeated sales of alcoholic drinks to children under 15. The bar owner was reported to the judicial authority.
The name and address of the bar have not been disclosed in the available reports, nor have the exact date and time of the checks.
Any suggestion about what the replica pistol may previously have been used for remains unconfirmed and is not presented as an established fact in the verified sources.
