Carabinieri from the Stella company unit arrested a 51-year-old man in the Pendino district of Naples after a search of his home uncovered drugs and counterfeit currency.
During the search of the home of the man, already known to law enforcement, officers found 28 grams of marijuana. A further inspection revealed a hiding place formed with magnets supporting a small loft, where dozens of 100-euro notes were concealed.
The notes, with a total nominal value of €21,800, were later assessed as counterfeit by the anti-counterfeiting unit.
The 51-year-old was transferred to prison on charges relating to possession of narcotics and counterfeit banknotes. No final judicial outcome has been reported.
