Police in Melito di Napoli have arrested a 41-year-old local resident on a charge of possession of drugs with intent to deal, after officers found cocaine doses and cash inside her apartment and a larger stash of cocaine and hashish in the building's shared meter room.

The operation was carried out by officers of the Giugliano-Villaricca police station, with support from canine units.

What was found in the apartment

Inside the woman's apartment, officers seized 44 individual wraps containing a total of about 14 grams of cocaine.

Officers also seized 424 euros in cash, in banknotes of different denominations, found in the home. The available reports describe the money as suspected proceeds linked to dealing activity, but there is no reported final judicial determination on that point.

What was found in the meter room

A second seizure took place in the building's communal meter room, the shared space housing utility meters.

There, police found a bag containing another 160 grams of cocaine and a block of hashish weighing about 100 grams.

That material was seized against unknown persons. Based on the information available in the corroborating reports, the drugs found in the common area are not attributed to the arrested woman.

Why the two seizures are treated separately

The distinction matters for readers:

  • The apartment seizure — 44 wraps and cash — is the basis for the arrest of the 41-year-old woman.
  • The meter-room seizure — 160 grams of cocaine plus about 100 grams of hashish — was recovered from a shared condominium space and seized against unknown owners.

No information has been released about who placed the drugs in the meter room or whether further suspects are under investigation.

What remains unclear

The sources do not publish the name of the arrested woman.

They also do not report the outcome of any validation hearing or any subsequent precautionary measure, nor do they clarify ownership of the drugs recovered from the meter room.

What is confirmed is the scale of the two finds: a small quantity already divided into street-ready doses in the apartment, and a substantially larger quantity stored separately in the building's common area.
