During a check in Barra, officers from the Polizia di Stato's Commissariato Ponticelli stopped a 44-year-old man who presented an identity document bearing his photograph but registered to another person, according to Il Mattino.
The man was reported for possession of a false document. Police established that he was subject to a prison order for a sentence of 1 year, 4 months and 20 days for smuggling offences committed in 2017 in the Naples area. Il Mattino reports that the order had been issued on 26 June by the Procura Generale di Napoli.
In a separate search in Barra, officers seized approximately 7 kg of cocaine, along with two precision scales and material for packaging drugs. The seized drugs were, at the time of the report, attributed to unknown persons.
A note on the sourcing: the Il Mattino headline refers to the suspect as being in his forties, while the article body identifies him as 44 years old. The report does not name the suspect or identify the owner or occupant of the basement where the drugs were found, and no separate official police statement on this specific operation was cited.
