A 57-year-old man from Acerra was arrested after Carabinieri from the Castello di Cisterna group searched his home and reported finding weapons, homemade explosive devices and drugs.
According to the report in Il Mattino, investigators reported finding two .38 Special pistols, one of them with an altered serial number, a 9x21 pistol and a Beretta 7.65 pistol equipped with a laser sight. The weapons reportedly had ammunition in their magazines, for a total of 41 rounds.
The reported seizure also included two homemade bombs weighing one kilogram each, 35 grams of crack and 113 grams of hashish divided into doses.
The suspect was taken to prison. The weapons were to undergo ballistic and fingerprint examinations, which were reported as pending. The explosive devices were handed to bomb-disposal specialists from the Naples provincial command and were scheduled for controlled destruction.
