A 24-year-old man is in serious condition at the Cto hospital in Naples after being stabbed several times in the abdomen.
According to Il Mattino, the young man reached the emergency department with multiple stab wounds. He was admitted under reserved prognosis due to the severity of his injuries.
The assault reportedly occurred during the previous night, but the exact location and circumstances remain unclear.
Officers from the Ufficio prevenzione generale are investigating the case. Police are examining surveillance-camera footage, with attention focused in particular on the northern area of Naples, in an effort to reconstruct what happened.
Because of his critical condition, the victim has not yet been able to be interviewed by investigators.
Neither the identity of the attacker or attackers nor the motive for the assault is known at this stage.
