Two men aged 19 and 20 have been detained on suspicion of aggravated robbery after a 21-year-old was allegedly threatened with a knife and forced to withdraw €300 from an ATM in Piazza del Gesù, Naples.
According to the report by Il Mattino, the incident occurred at approximately 5:00 a.m. on 24 September. Investigators allege that the two suspects, acting together with a third person, threatened the young man with a knife and compelled him to make the cash withdrawal.
The victim reportedly recognized two of the alleged robbers in the same square the following day and called emergency number 112. Carabinieri responded, reviewed surveillance-camera footage from the area, and detained the two suspects.
The two men were transferred to prison pending proceedings before the Naples judicial authority. Investigators were still seeking to identify the alleged third participant.
