Carabinieri from the Compagnia Napoli Centro stopped a 14-year-old student from the province of Naples in Piazza del Plebiscito while he was carrying a knuckle-duster.
According to reports from Il Mattino and Ottopagine, the teenager told officers he only wanted to take a selfie or post a story showing himself in the square. The reports do not identify the teenager, who is a minor.
He was reported to the authorities for carrying a weapon or an object capable of causing harm.
The stop took place during a wider overnight territorial-control operation in central Naples. The same operation reportedly resulted in three other denunciations connected to knives and two denunciations involving unauthorized parking attendants.
