Francesco Tedesco, a journalist and longtime collaborator of ANSA in Naples, has died at the age of 53.
The funeral was announced for 11 a.m. at the Parrocchia Nostra Signora del Sacro Cuore in via Scala, at the corner with via Simone Martini, in Naples.
A career from Rotopress to ANSA
Tedesco began his career with the Rotopress news agency and started working with ANSA in 2005. Over more than two decades, he became a steady presence in the Neapolitan newsroom.
For ANSA, he covered regional politics and institutions, as well as sport and matters concerning Napoli. That combination of beats placed him across council rooms, institutional events, and football coverage.
Tributes from the city and the profession
His death prompted messages of condolence from Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi, the Ordine dei Giornalisti della Campania, and SSC Napoli.
According to published accounts, Mayor Manfredi recalled Tedesco's professionalism, preparation, and humanity. Colleagues and institutions also remembered him for his reliability, balance, and humanity.
He is survived by his wife and daughter.
