The preferential lane on the Riviera di Chiaia, between via San Pasquale and piazza Vittoria in Naples, has reopened to traffic.

According to Il Mattino, vehicles arriving from via San Pasquale and via Carducci can now proceed directly toward the Galleria Vittoria using the reopened lane.

The traffic arrangement is connected to construction of the new tram line between San Giovanni and piazza Sannazaro, which the Municipality of Naples cites as the reason for traffic measures on the Riviera di Chiaia.

Work was continuing on the remaining carriageway, with completion reported as targeted by 20 September to support traffic during the America's Cup pre-regattas. Nighttime work was planned for cable replacement and track reprofiling for the Tram del Mare in order to limit the impact on car traffic.

Drivers should also note the planned America's Cup traffic restrictions starting 21 September, which include vehicle transit and parking bans on both sides of viale Anton Dohrn and on the specified section of via Francesco Caracciolo.
