Vehicle traffic has reopened on Naples's Lungomare, ahead of the originally planned schedule.
From 7 p.m., viale Anton Dohrn and via Francesco Caracciolo were reopened to vehicles, in the section between viale Anton Dohrn and piazza Vittoria, according to Il Mattino Napoli.
The previous closure had been put in place to allow the America's Cup pre-regattas and related activities to take place safely.
What changes for drivers
The reopening restores normal circulation along a central stretch of the seafront connecting the Dohrn waterfront area with Piazza Vittoria.
Drivers should still pay attention to a further restriction nearby: from 10 p.m., the bus lane on the Riviera di Chiaia, between piazza della Repubblica and piazza Vittoria, was closed to traffic again. The closure is for completion of redevelopment works linked to the reactivation of the tram line as far as piazza Sannazaro.
The exact duration of that later bus-lane closure was not specified in the available report.
