Two separate road accidents occurred close to one another on Via San Rocco in Marano, causing fear among residents and serious traffic disruption.
The first crash involved a Lancia Y and a waste-collection truck. According to Il Mattino, the two vehicles collided and both overturned, coming to rest on the roadway.
Carabinieri from the Marano Company responded to the scene. Several people were reported injured, although the number and severity of the injuries have not been specified.
Farther along the same road, a second, separate accident involved a Fiat 500, which also overturned.
Rescue operations and the presence of the crashed vehicles led to the closure of Via San Rocco, with severe slowdowns for traffic in the area.
Authorities were still investigating the dynamics of both incidents at the time of reporting.
