Afragola police reported five arrests over two days of checks, covering an alleged street robbery, shoplifting cases, and drug dealing, alongside the discovery of an unauthorized bird-breeding facility in Caivano.
According to Il Mattino, the operation was conducted by officers of the Afragola police station.
Among the cases described was an alleged robbery in Via Toselli in Afragola. The reported victim was an elderly woman who suffered fractures and other injuries after being dragged during the theft.
Police also reported the arrest of a 25-year-old woman in connection with a series of shoplifting incidents at Centro Commerciale Piazza Afragola. A 16-year-old alleged accomplice was reported to the juvenile prosecutor rather than arrested.
Two further arrests concerned alleged street-level drug dealing, one in Rione Salicelle and another near Parco Verde in Caivano, Il Mattino reported.
In Via Uganda in Caivano, police reported finding approximately one hundred goldfinches, or cardellini, in an unauthorized breeding facility. The birds were said to have been kept in overcrowded, dirty cages and in poor sanitary conditions.
The facility operator was reported as being investigated at liberty for alleged animal mistreatment. After veterinary examinations, the birds were released in the woods of Capodimonte.
