Umberto Sarnacchiaro, a 64-year-old Neapolitan man, died after being struck by a scooter while he was riding his bicycle, according to Il Mattino.
After his death, videos showing Sarnacchiaro on the ground, dead and partially exposed, were circulated on social media.
His daughter, Amalia, has appealed to news outlets and social media users to remove the footage. "Si cancelli il video dai social, cosi state continuando ad uccidere mio padre" — "Remove the video from social media, this way you are continuing to kill my father" — she said, as reported by Il Mattino.
Amalia said her 11-year-old daughter had also seen the video. She described the continued sharing of the images as continuing to kill her father and causing further harm to the family.
