Daniel, the young Swedish man who had been living inside Naples' Capodichino airport for more than a month, has returned to Sweden. His father traveled to Rome to meet him, and the two reunited there before leaving for Sweden together.

The return was made possible with the help of the Swedish embassy, which assisted in providing the travel documents Daniel needed. He had previously been without documents.

Before the departure, Daniel had become a familiar presence at Capodichino, known to airport staff and travelers who helped him during his stay. In the days leading up to his return, he accepted accommodation in a municipal Centro di Prima Accoglienza in Naples.

The Municipality of Naples, the Swedish consulate, and the Swedish embassy worked together to reconnect Daniel with his family and organize his journey home.

Details of how Daniel arrived in Italy and why he remained at the airport have not been fully disclosed, in part for privacy reasons.
