An unattended Opel rolled backward into the waters of the port of Castellammare di Stabia after apparently being left without the handbrake engaged.
According to Il Mattino, the driver had parked the car, gotten out, and walked away when the vehicle began to move. The car was locked, so she was unable to stop it once she realized what was happening.
The car ended up in the water close to the quay used by ferries, near the Harbour Master's Office.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and recovered the vehicle. No injuries were reported, and the available account does not specify the exact time of the incident or the extent of damage to the car.
