On 8 September 2026, EAV reported continuing technical problems affecting the Napoli–Torre Annunziata–Poggiomarino and Napoli–Sorrento lines.
What changed
According to the EAV service notice:
- All Napoli–Sorrento trains, in both directions, ran as accelerated services and stopped at all stations.
- Napoli–Torre Annunziata shuttle services were cancelled.
- Napoli–Poggiomarino trains were limited to the Torre Annunziata–Poggiomarino section.
Passengers travelling to or from stations between Torre Annunziata and Poggiomarino had to change trains at Torre Annunziata.
EAV did not specify the exact nature of the technical problems in the notice.
Service resumption
EAV subsequently reported that rail circulation had resumed regularly between Napoli and Torre del Greco on 8 September 2026.
The first services indicated as covering the full route were:
- Train 11457, departing Napoli for Torre Annunziata at 14:57
- Train 1153, departing Napoli for Sorrento at 15:17
- Train 4155, departing Napoli for Poggiomarino at 15:26
The restoration notice confirms regular circulation between Napoli and Torre del Greco, but does not explicitly state that every alteration described in the earlier notice had ended.
Passengers using these Vesuvian lines should check the current EAV notices before travelling.
